What can I say about my dear, dear friend Jeanne? She was a character of the first order. Even in the face of a terrible illness, she still had, always, a great sense of humor.
We always had loads to talk about even though we talked just about every single day!
When she got her liver transplant, everyone who knew and loved her was hopeful that she would go on to lead a long and happy life.
Unfortunately, unrelated complications crushed those hopes short of 6 months post-transplant.
Jeanne, I miss you every day but especially when I take my lunch break, and on weekends when we used to have our marathon gab-fests.
I know you are reunited with your Dad, your brother, and your furbabies who went before you, along with all of the babies you lost to miscarriage.
I know you sought out my Mom when she arrived and I hope you showed her the ropes.
We will meet again one day my friend. And when that day comes, we will have a lot of catching up to do.
My dear friend Kathy was an absolute sweetheart. She fought Diabetes from the time she was 3 years old. Although it robbed her of most of her eyesight, you would have never known it. It never stopped from doing the things she wanted to do.
It was always a pleasure to see her with her bright smile and shining, dancing eyes twinkling. She was a fun person who enjoyed life to its fullest.
It was always a joy to see her at the Harrisburg Dog Show each year and I loved that she used to live so nearby; only two and a half hours from me!
When she moved to Tennessee with her husband due to his job relocation, I had planned on going for a visit.
Sadly, God had other plans and called her home in the early morning hours of February 16, 2005.
Kathy, I am sure Heaven is a much livelier place with you there. I am sure Jeanne and my Mom met you and you are having a grand old time.
We will meet again one day. Until then, you will be sorely missed.
